In increasing order of effectiveness...
- Reject an e-mail with "XXX" in the subject:, from:, or to: header.
- Reject any e-mail from Russia, China, Korea, Italy, or the Netherlands
- Reject any e-mail that has passed through Russia, China, Korea, Italy, or the Netherlands
- Reject any e-mail from yourself.
- Reject any MIME email with a mime-type of "application"
- Reject any e-mail with text of the form: http://something@somewhere
- Reject any e-mail from a Microsoft MUA (Mail User Agent)
- Reject any e-mail claiming to be from yahoo.com or hotmail.com
- Reject any MIME encapsulated e-mail.
- Read mail on as obscure an operating system as possible. (Where's my MTS?)
- Use /bin/mail
- Don't use e-mail.
On the other hand, keep things in perspective.
