On January 1, Deborah Ball published an op/ed in The Huffington Post criticizing the combativeness in current efforts to improve U.S. teaching. Instead of a new "education war," the U.S. needs a realistic, unified plan to build a standards-based national curriculum and a system to prepare teachers to teach this curriculum effectively.
