Deborah Ball commented on the consequences of the “burnout” rate for teachers and the need to better prepare teachers for schools on a January 8 news program on Boston public radio station WGBH. “Obviously there are programs that prepare people well for teaching. But overall, as a nation, we grossly under-prepare people for this work and the fact that it's so variable and often quite minimal compared to other occupations is shameful."
