This
is the
third of four similar sections of the St. Anne Youth Group Mural.
The attention to detail and incorporation of complementing colors just
goes to show how artistic the young artists of this mural are. To
make art like this takes patience and talent.
When the youth came to paint their mural, the city of Detroit actively
helped. They sent police officers from the third precinct just
around the corner to close the street off to traffic. This allowed the
youth to finish their artwork without distraction and in safety.
It also allowed the youth to interact with the police of their
community and vise-versa. While the youth painted, they had music
and friends come down to the mural sight to visit.
