A critical look at Latino/a immigration

Picture Not Available

It is without doubt that immigration has been one of the fundamental issues the United States has faced since its creation over two hundred years ago.  Today, in the year 2007, people from all walks of life in the United States are greatly affected by the United States' policies towards legal and undocumented immigration.  Politicians, economists, and scholars from all over the country continue to examine how undocumented immigrants and workers from Latin-American countries are shaping the way the U.S. is evolving in the 21st century.  Moreover, they are trying to fundamentally understand the push-pull factors that make emigration from one’s native countries so popular, and how these people are affecting the political, economic and cultural makeup of the United States of America.

The aim of this website is to give our audience a detailed view of the state of undocumented immigration at the outset of 2008.  The website will break down the economic and political impact of undocumented immigration from Latin American countries, and will discuss the ongoing debate about what policies should be enacted to address the issue.  In the conclusion we will then offer our own calculated recommendations about how the United States should move forward.  Enjoy!
