I was kinda scared going in, actually, I was really scared. I really didn't have any friends from Novi, just some acquaintances, like Geoff and Clayton. I didn't think I could perform at the public high school academic level, considering there were so many people smarter than I (too many to count). But I sorta just left it up to God to get me through it, and went in expecting the worst.

The first week or so was ok class wise, but I'll tell you, for a fragile personality like me it was tough not having people to sit with at lunch. When that happens, you just don't feel a part of anything, and you feel self-conscious, and question things. But thankfully, and they'll have my forever gratitude, Geoff and his group took me in, and things were ok from there. I enjoyed my first year of school, I found that if you just work hard, you'll do ok. People were nice, not stuck up like some people say (well...I guess there were some...), and playing tennis was fun.

High school just sorta rolled by, and I just went with the flow. Even though I didn't attend any of the school functions on Friday nights or Saturdays, I didn't really feel deprived, it was just a fact of life. Teachers were great...people were great...and I started getting a little more involved and stuff. Plus, there were people to sit with at lunch now!

Then junior year rolled around...and with it came those dreaded tests, the PSAT, ACT, and SAT. Junior year was my toughest year of high school, but compared to college it was nothing...=) I had two great teachers in Mr. Dunbar (AP Bio) and Mr. Hanson (AP Chem). Overall, it was a fun year, especially after AP tests, since Dunbar let us play soccer and stuff. Varsity tennis was fun, we had a good team, but didn't advance past regionals. I think that junior year was pivotal to the focus of my life...it definately determined where I was going to college...as it does with everyone else.

Junior summer, I finally got a summer where I didn't go to Korea, and I took the time to get my driver's permit finally! Of course my parents didn't get me a car...and haven't yet...=( but that's expected.
