Overview
The Safety and Chemical Education Certificate Program aims to help students entering the chemical engineering workforce expand their process safety training and professional credentials.
The online program makes it easy for students to expand their process safety training and earn a professional credential that will give them an edge in today’s dynamic job marketplace. With a respected Certificate of Completion in hand, students can prove to employers that they have additional process safety training beyond their undergraduate degree. In turn, employers can hire employees who are prepared to improve safety in plants and laboratories.
How it works
No enrollment is necessary. Students with a national AIChE membership (which is free for any students taking a Chemical Engineering course here at the University of Michigan) may access the modules at www.sache.org. For the password, email Dr. Susan Montgomery at smontgom@umich.edu.
The program is developed by chemical and safety experts and designed to develop proficiency in process safety training. Students can conveniently access the online modules at any time and study at their own pace.
