Right off the bat Jacquelene and I made plans to build castles.
We put down some LEGO real estate and started hording castle pieces.
While I concentrated on putting up walls to defend my tiny plot of land
Jacquelene focused on amassing and army (below). Army-less, I was forced
to consider the option of paying Jacquelene's mercenaries to guard my castle
during its construction. When all was said and done I had a nice little
fortification (right) protected by a mighty
cannon tower and strong oaken doors. You can barely see my
leader standing at the front castle wall. Check out his shiny crown.
He must be some kind of royalty, but I'm not sure what kind. I haven't
named him yet either, poor guy. Jacquelene's castle (left) consisted of
a long protective perimeter wall. There's her queen standing on said wall.
Her name is Kella and the lady beside her is her trusted advisor. Both of
us vowed to complete our castles at a later date.
Liz started out working
on a space ship, but the inspiration was just not there, so she switched
to building a computer. Now this was no ordinary computer. It ran on a
special power source. It's that white helicopter-blade-looking thing on the
back. You see, some small animal, I think it was a hamster, ran from blade to
blade thus spinning the turbine.
You'll note that the computer's user, Dave, not only has a large view screen,
but that he also has a modern input device - a mouse right there at his right
hand. The mouse pivots on a turnpad and is connected to the computer by
that big tube.
By this time Dan
made his appearance. He grabbed a pirate ship hull and
Don Johnson's car and started assembling the scourge of
the seas. He put Cap'n Hazelwood at the wheel and mounted a particle accelerator
cannon on the side. I knew that I needed to get on the good side of Cap'n
Hazelwood, so I sent a diplomat over to the ship. One of the ship's crew members
zapped my diplomat and zombified him! I feared peace would not be an option and
worried as to whether Queen Kella's mercenaries would be able to fend off these
pirates, but luckily Cap'n Hazelwood had a change of heart and returned my
diplomat with a suitcase full of golden burgers. While this was going on Liz
built the space shuttle from set 6339 and let Dan attach it to his ship.
This
car-ship-cannon-shuttle construct wasn't the sturdiest, so we took a picture of
Dan holding his pirate ship
before it was decommisioned.
Dave and Jason were the last
two to arrive. While Jason set about decorating my castle with an odd bunch
of medieval misfits, Dave set to work on a golden airship. Making use of both
rocket and jet power this airplane might very well be capable of intense speeds
were it not for the unusual tail design. Still the tail is functional and is
rumored to serve some secret purpose.
Jason's newly
created axe wielding mob seemed to long for some sort of transportation. This
need was met when Jason mounted 3 cannons on the wind-up motor. This unstoppable
marvel of middle-ages technology struck terror in the hearts of all those who
weren't laughing too hard at it's bizzare appearance.
Our building done for the evening, we all went to
Dennys to get a late dinner.
After dinner Dan created the last construction of the night - a mighty yellow
fortress complete with cannons, turretted machine guns, and of course a helipad.
Dan helped me pack up the LEGOs and thus ended my first LEGO party.
