• They are both from the same place, but from different times. Evidently, Locke was alive at the time Connie is living in now, but Locke is hundreds of years old. In that time there has been some sort of cataclysm - a major war I believe. After the war, magic was discovered. Magic amuses Connie greatly, since he has never witnessed it. Locke seems to be familiar with magic, as well as mysticism and alchemy, but does seem to have a command of the mystic arts.
• Locke arrived in Amber when he was pulled into a violent storm. I'll bet it was one similar to the storm Korvan used to travel to Fallingham. Locke says the storm was created by a "vampire", which by all descriptions could very well be a Logus magician.
• Connie is indeed an artist. He has painted Castle Amber and the lands around it many times without having ever seeing them. Is he a prophet? It's possible his paintings created this land, though that seems like a longshot.
• They have both heard of the myth of Camelot. Is it just coincidence that everyone I meet lately has heard this story? I think it is somehow important. How do the princes Merlin and Bleys fit into it? Are there other princes and princesses of Amber with names from the myth?

During our conversation we were served food and drink and I had the chance to meet possibly the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.
