Session 2

In this session all four characters were questioned by Random. When things were cleared up a little each of the characters was lead to a different pattern and proceeded to walk it.

Jessica Konstantin Scene 1 - Castle Amber Locke Simon

After delivering his "You all have a lot of explaining to do" line Random is met only with uneasy silence. He paces back and forth as Vialle explains that there was an attack made on Random and Caine at the same time at different locations. This coincided with the discovery of Locke and Simon, also in different places. Fiona expects that it was a move on someone's part to divide the attentions of the brothers and sisters. Still there is little explaination from our heros. Simon offers to cast spell that might clear things up, but Fiona rejects the idea. Benedict suggests Random question us individually. Fiona judges the relative threat posed by each of the characters and Jessica is brought into a side room to be questioned first.

Jessica Scene 2 - Castle Amber

Random questions Jessica and puts her under Benedict's guard. Benedict tells Jessica he thinks he is her father.

Konstantin Scene 3 - Castle Amber Locke Simon

Left to talk amongst themselves, Connie, Locke, and Simon try to make some sense of what has happened to them. They discuss tarot, alchemy, sorcery, Pattern, and Logrus. Flora arrives and castle staff bring in food and drinks. Locke and Connie figure out that they are from the same world, but different times. Locke explains his theory on the social hierachy of Amber. Fiona returns and takes Locke, Llewella and Gerard in to see Random.

Scene 4 - Castle Amber Locke

Locke explains his arrival and his theory on Agartha. He thinks that Amber is a place/spiritual state he knows as Agartha, which is a higher plane of being. Fiona tries to clear up his notions by holding his hand and transfering a wealth of knowledge about Amber and its relation to Earth and other shadows. Afterwards Locke asks how they know this to be true. Fiona says that it is taken on faith. Random, growing tired of the questioning, assigns Llewella and Gerard to be Locke's guide. The three of them Trump to Rebma.

Konstantin Scene 5 - Castle Amber Simon

After Locke's questioning Fiona calls for Bleys, Connie, and Simon to speak with Random. Random appears tired. Simon explains to him what little he can about his arrival in Choas and being saved by Merlin. Random mentions that Merlin does not keep residence at the castle. The conversation become disjointed from there and switches tone from inquiry to explaination on the part of Random, Fiona, and Bleys. They make further attempt to explain the basic notions of Amber and Pattern. Random is amused that Bleys used the 'potato' analogy for Logrus and Pattern. This all leads Simon to press the issue of walking the pattern, explaining that was his mission in being brought here by Bleys. Fiona thinks this a wise choice, but cautions Simon to be well rested before attempting the pattern. Bleys escorts Simon from the room presumably so that Simon may get some sleep.
Connie, who has remained mostly quite thus far, remains in the room to answer further questions.

Scene 7 - Rebma Locke

Locke finds Remba to be an unusual underwater city. It inhabitants look human but with differently shaded hair of blue, purple, and green. Llewella and Gerard bring Locke to Queen Moria for permission to walk Rebma's pattern. Along the way Locke questions Gerard about the water breathing spell. This doesn't seem to interest Gerard much, so Locke changes tact. He asks about the authenticity of this 'Reflection Pattern'. Llewella and Gerard explain that Remba's Pattern is a very close shadow of the Primal Pattern and is just as good. They note that elements in chaos can sense 4 people walking the Pattern at near the same time. Because of this it is important for each to walk a different copy of the Pattern. However, they do not further explain why this is.
Queen Moria notices the Locke has some of the features of Random, who she hates. Llewella tries to downplay this, but Gerard make no effort at sublty possibly counteracting Llewella's diplomacy. Locke speaks on his own behalf and Moria reluctanctly grants him permission to walk the pattern.
Locke notices that the door to the room housing the Pattern is locked from the outside. Before him lies a swirling spiral of a pink neon-like line on the floor. Gerard explains what Locke is to do and tells him that the Pattern will transport him anywhere when he completes the walk. The three of them lapse into a long discussion hinging on Locke's plan to find out who his Ambrite parent is. After being told of the uncertain dangers and possible fatality of transporting to totally unknown locations Locke decides to transport to the picture of his parent in the gallery in Castle Amber. Before he can walk the pattern Llewlla's son, Nathanial, arrives to watch. Locke walks the pattern and is transported to the gallery.

Scene 8 - Castle Amber Simon

Bleys and Simon descend a long staircase until Simon mentions how unusual it is to have bedrooms in the basement. Bleys somewhat embarassedly admits that he wasn't headed for the guest rooms, but towards the Pattern Room. Bleys convinces Simon to walk the pattern instead of sleeping first. Simon uses a spell to tap Bleys' memory of when he himself walked the pattern and later uses another spell to show Bleys his only memory of his parents. It is Simon's plan to match this memory with the coesponding memory in the mind of his parent. Bleys seems guarded when seeing the memory - no indication. Simon, tired, prepares to walk the pattern. After his first step onto the pattern Bleys tell him he thinks he's Simon's father. Simon struggles through to the very last step but cannot manage it. He calmly continues to try to make the last step, but is relieved when Bleys arrives to give him a little push. Exhausted, Simon staggers off to bed with Bleys' help.

Konstantin Scene 9 - Amber

Fiona takes Connie to walk the Primal Pattern. Connie completes it with relative ease, but upon reaching the center doesn't know what to do. He meets Dworkin and the two transport off to 'the land of Dairy Queen'.

Scene 12 - Castle Amber Locke

When Locke arrives in the gallery he is standing facing a picture of a unicorn. Undaunted, he checks other nearby pictures in hopes of finding a parent, but the next nearest are Dworkin and Oberon. With a sigh he checks the pictures of other members of the Amber royalty who have similar features. When he finishes with this he exists to the Library where he meets Gilva, Chaos' ambassador to Amber. She wears full battle dress and is reading a book about Benedict's battle against the Moon Riders. They discuss politics between Amber and Chaos. Gilva admits Chaos is presently "shorthanded". Before he leaves, Gilva suggests they have dinner together some time.

Scene 13 - Hellride to Twentilise Simon

In the morning Simon and Bleys eat hardy breakfasts. Simon tells Bleys that he needs to return to chaos to recover Caliburn and Korvan's head. Instead Bleys asks Merlin to bring the items. Merlin makes short work of the task. Simon thanks Merlin again. Simon and Bleys set out on horseback. Bleys teaches Simon to "Hellride". Simon rides to hellrides to Stonehenge and then circles it until it matches the one from his shadow. Next they ride to Essex, where they learn of an a maurading army. They travel swiftly by boat to Sussex where they find Aurthur up on the north wall commanding the defense of the city against another, larger army of dark troops from the moons.

Konstantin Scene 14 - Castle Amber
