Session 4
We learned that Ygg, the tree that seperates Chaos and
Amber, is dying. We began investigating the situation.
This session my log will cover the actions of Simon and
Konstantin. For detailed on the actions of Jessica and
Locke check out
Liz's log.
Bleys tells everyone that this giant tree, Ygg, was planted thousands
and thousands of years ago by Oberon to mark the border between
Amber and Chaos. The tree looks to be in bad health. Bleys will
study it to find out what was wrong with it. Locke trips over
a skeleton that is one of many lying in the tall grass around Ygg.
Evidently these wariors had met their fate when Ygg defended itself
from their various attacks. Connie discovers a face on the tree and
shortly thereafter Jessica discovers a force shield, which does not
allow her or Locke to pass to the Chaos side of the tree. Connie and
Simon are able to pass through the field with no trouble. Bleys
explains that this was because they have a large portion of Chaos
blood in them. Simon uses spells to feel Ygg's emotions. Ygg is
in a great deal of pain, so he casts a spell ease the pain a bit.
Bleys shows all of us how to use Pattern to see shadow trails.
Jessica, Konstantin, Locke, and Simon all make mental contact to
get each other's mental signatures before Bleys
sends Locke and Jessica along a trail on the Amber side, and
calls for Merlin to escort Connie and Simon along a trail on
the chaos side.

Locke and Jessica follow the shadow trail through TMNT City to
a brdige where they battle the Black Knight.

Connie draws a Trump of Locke while he and Simon wait for Merlin's
arrival. Merlin arrives and creates a sword for Connie. Simon uses
Pattern to locate a long sword among the bodies. Merlin uses Logrus
to follow the shadow trail. Eventually the trail leads to dusty
frontier town. Simon suggests stopping for beer. He plays poker
witht he locals and uses magic to cheat and win. Merlin shows up
on the scene, pretneding be the sherrif, just in time to avert a
fight. The group purchases two horses and continues along the trail.
That night at camp Connie Trump contacts his father and has
a long discussion with him while the others sleep. Luke agrees to
try to find Connie's mother.

Scene 4 - Corwin's Pattern |

|
The trail forks and Jessica and Locke split up. Jessica finds a
tree and a pattern. Locke arrives and the two of them study the
pattern and later Trump call Fiona and Benedict.

Scene 5 - Chaos |
|
|
The group is attacked by a skeletal dragon just out of site of
Thelbane, the tower of Chaos City. Connie is attacked by jawas
while Simon assists Merlin in fighting the dragon. Merlin crushes
the dragon with Logrus. When the others find Connie he has just
defeated the jawas. The group presses onward, but stops at the edge
of Chaos City where Merlin changes shape and suggests Simon and
Connie return to Amber because the city is too dangerous for them.
Connie studies Thelbane to later draw a Trump of it.
Back at Castle Amber Connie and Simon are Trumped by Locke, who
tells them about finding Corwin's Pattern and a smaller Ygg-like
tree. Locke is called away by Benedict. Connie and Simon go to
the library where they do research about their families among
other things. Connie draws a Trump of Thelbane.

|
Benedict prepares Jessica and Locke for a strike into the
Jungle to spy on Dalt.

|
Jessica, Locke, Benedict and a team of his forces spy on Dalt.
More
Jessica and Locke Trump to Simon after they finish their mission.
They are all joined by Bleys who explains that Ygg is dying. He
brings in a large dinner and everyone eats heartily. Jessica
challenges Simon to a drinking contest, which lasts late into the
night. They get 'kicked out' off the library and continue the
contest in Locke's room.
