C: Well Roger, did you kill the vampire?

Rod: Yeah.

C: Why don't you tell me about it.

Rod: I sort of planned it in the Limo. I was sitting there by myself for a minute after I dropped the bag. Well, I wasn't really alone. Dustin, my driver was there, but he didn't look back. I wanted to kill. I really did. But I was pushing it down hard. That was all I could do - think and push down the hatred. Karissa was dead. They had chopped of her head. Damn! They thought that was some bad shit I'll bet. Burn 'em! That's what I'll do. I'll burn 'em 'til there's nothing left.
I heard the handle of the door click. Magnolia was getting into the car. My eyes were hot. I've never felt that since that night I died. It shocked me a little. I was, like, shaking too. Magnolia slid into the car and put her hand on my neck and asked me if I was OK. I couldn't look at her. I just pushed down the pain and the hate and looked at my boots. She put her head on my shoulder and I started to feel better. I felt sort of calm.

C: What was your plan?

Rod: I figured the best way to beat Claude was to burn him. I couldn't stake him or shoot him, 'cause he'd be too fast. Magnolia said he was faster than anyone she'd ever seen. But fire would scare him. Vampires hate the stuff. And when he was on fire with no way to escape he'd be sorry. He would be sorry for everything he did to Magnolia.
I made some calls. I called Shelie to break our date. I called Mr. Mazzone, a mob guy who owes me, and ordered a couple of tasers, an asbestos suit, and - get this - a flame-thrower. He said he'd get the stuff for me fast. I just didn't know how fast. He got it to me that same day. Oh yeah, I called a gravestone place too. I ordered two marble monoliths, one with a K carved at the base and one with an R. Magnolia was crying. I don't know why. She was even more shook-up than I was. She asked if I really wanted to do this. Which is weird, cause I asked her the same thing earlier and she got all mad. I just hugged her and told her I'd do anything for her.

C: Did you kill him last night or tonight?

Rod: I did it tonight. Early in the evening. Magnolia said Claude was a late sleeper, so we came to the house before he was even awake.

C: Was it just you and Magnolia?

Rod: No, Magnolia wanted me to ask Ahmed. Killing a vampire didn't bother Ahmed at all. I guess he figured Claude had it coming. There was someone else there too. We saw her flying up to the house. It was Kelsey, one of my sisters I hadn't really met much. I don't know why she was there. I got sort of confused. Kelsey was looking for someone, but I think maybe Cecilia sent her.

C: What brings you to this conclusion?

Rod: Well, it's strange... Something Cecilia said right before I left. I can't remember what it was, but she knew what I was doing. Maybe she can read my mind. She was all happy. She and Jonas were talking about a family vacation and...

C: Wait, you're getting off the subject, Roger. We will get back to that later. Tell me what happened next at the Magnolia's Estate.

Rod: Hmm. Well it wasn't very hard. I went up to Claude's bedroom. It was just how Magnolia said it would be. Ahmed flew in around the balcony side, so we had Claude trapped. He was just lying there sleeping. It was too easy. I had the suit on and the flame-thrower, and a gas mask. I was a machine all hyped up on coke and blood. I just washed the spray of napalm back and forth over the bed. He didn't jump up right away. It would've been too late even if he did. Ahmed blasted him twice with the shotgun before he even got up. Claude was screaming, but I could barely hear him. The flame-thrower was loud and Ahmed kept shooting. Claude jumped up and smacked into the ceiling. Then he sort of stumbled around. One of Ahmed's shots knocked him down and he never got back up. By then the whole room was starting to catch on fire. We had to get out. Ahmed lit some dynamite and we got out of there just as it blew.

C: How do you feel now?

Rod: Uh, I don't know. What do you mean?

C: How do you feel now that you've killed a vampire?

Rod: (shrug) The same, I guess. I'm glad he won't hurt Magnolia any more.

C: Very well. Did anything else of interest occur recently?

Rod: Oh yeah, there was a big raid on the morgue. First Jonas told me that Karissa's body was in the morgue. He told me right after I found out about her death. I didn't want to hear about it. I just ignored him. What do I want with a dead body anyhow?
Later a bunch of vampires got together at Club MOD! Somehow they convinced me that we needed to go take care of the body. Cecilia wanted to make everyone forget about it because of the masquerade. We all piled into cars and went down there.

C: Who went along on this trip?

Rod: I'm trying to remember. (thinking) There was me and Ahmed and Cecilia... Jonas, Ruthie, and Magnolia.
Oh man, Magnolia was hot! She wore a dark red and purple teddy with stockings and gloves and everything, which is really weird to wear to a morgue, but I didn't hear anyone complain. I've seen her like that a few times before. She's knows just how to play it. She can make you do anything. It was her job to distract guards and stuff. Cecilia, Ruthie, and I were supposed to use our powers to make people forget about the corpse.
It all worked OK. The others burned the body and all the evidence. I guess the secret is safe now.

C: Earlier you mentioned a family trip. Can you tell me about that now?

Rod: I don't really know too much about it. We're going to Berlin or some place in Germany. I don't know why. It has something to do with being an official clan or something. Cecilia was pretty happy about it. I'll tell you how it goes.
Oh, I'm gonna try to set up a big charity concert while I'm there. That would rock!

C: If you say so.
