2/20 John Lindberg Ensemble featuring:
Wendell Harrison - tenor saxophone, clarinet
Ed Sarath -flugelhorn
John Lindberg - bass

This project of leader John Lindberg brings together an extraordinary "Michigan" Ensemble that features the original compositions of the leader as well as those by group members Harrison and Sarath, and original arrangements of classic Mingus and Ellington pieces.

Performances by the ensemble feature a revolving set of interconnected instrumental combinations creating a compelling palette for blending the intimate sensibilities of chamber playing with the raw excitement and spontaneity of jazz improvisation.

Detroit based master musician Harrison, and Ann Arbor's own creative master Ed Sarath, bring their unique voices to this special project of the New Yorker Lindberg, which is now an ongoing unit since their first performance at Henry Ford Community College in March 2001, and has since been featured on Rebirth's live radio series on WDET Radio and at Ann Arbor's Edgefest.
