Nyla,

This is only a small part of the microfiche. I can only do about
2 hours at a time on it. It is very hard to read and some is
typed and some is typed and unreadable. I will work on it again
soon and send the rest that belongs on the Delaware Turners. I
do hope this helps someone out there. This is called "Joseph
Brown Turner" papers. This may give someone the documentation
they need for their line. I sure would like to hear from anyone
this does help. Please do email that you have had success.

Subject: arkansas turners

Hi Nyla,

A couple of months ago, I posted a very tentative inquiry about
my TURNER forebears. There was so little information posted, I'm
not surprised I didn't get a nibble.

Now, however, with the aid of census records, I've been able to
flesh out the line a bit. I'm still looking for the "Rosetta
stone," though.

This line is concentrated in northwestern Arkansas, mainly in
Franklin County, not to be confused with the Franklin Co.
Virginia Turners! Here they are, starting with my first known
Turner ancestor down to me:

    1. James Turner, b. prob. 1833 in Arkansas. md. Dicy Dunn on
Jan. 13, 1854 in Franklin Co., Ark.

    2. Robert Turner b. 1858 in Franklin Co., Ark. md. Mary ?

    3. Hugh Turner b. 1892 in Franklin Co. Ark. md. Essie Nicely,
b. 1894 in Tennessee.

    4. Robert Turner b. 1914 in Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Arkansas.

    5. Jimmy Turner b. 1948 in Salinas, Calif. (I was adopted in
1957, my name now is Jim Albanese)

I hope this helps a little.
    Thanks,
    Jim

Do you have any info on Jeremiah Burnett, father of Mary (Polly)
Burnett that m Richard Nowlin Jun 3 1796 in Patrick County, VA?

I am descended from this line, and have hit a wall trying to go
back from there.

Thanks,
Kurt

Nice work on the Ingram family Turner Compilations #115, 116 &
117. Haven't had time to go over it all yet, but noticed one
mistake on the Clifton connection. (Emanuel's birth year) See
below:

John Ingram Jr. b c1776 VA d Jan c1866 Patrick Co VA, a
miller, son of John & Elizabeth Chiles Ingram, m VA Nancy
_____ b c1776 VA. John Ingram had a grist mill on Dan River -
1860 Census. Child: Ruth (Ruth Clifton was sole heir of John
Ingram Jr. Will dated 5 Feb 1863 PCVA)

Ruth Ingram b c1818 VA d pre 4 Sep 1874, presumably dau of
John & Nancy Ingram, m abt 1833 Emanuel "Ewell" Clifton b abt
1813 VA (1840, 50 & 60 Census of Patrick Co VA), presumably
the son of John & Nancy Clifton. Children: Nancy Jane, Daniel,
James C., Samuel, Caroline, Tolbert, Mary, Sally, Green,
Martha & Allen. See Clifton History for further
descendants.

I must thank you again for providing these 3 compilations on the
Ingrams. My mother (an Altizer) was adopted by the Ingrams of
Floyd County after her mother died. These fit nicely with all
the Turner info previously provided, tracing my great
grandmother's family. Thanks, again. Darrell Nolen
