Obadiah's uncle, Roland Burnett (b: c1772), (brother to Obadiah's father, Obadiah ,b: c1764) was married to Mary "Polly" Hurt (b: 1801). Is there any relation between Mildred and Mary "Polly" Hurt? sisters? It would seem likely there would be a relationship since families often intermarried as we have seen plenty of times. Burnett Date: 97-07-06 00:01:13 EDT From: GDBurnette Nyla, I've posted a couple times looking for help on my g-g-g-grandfather John Greenberry Burnett (1810-1893). According to his own writings he was born and raised (and died) in Sullivan County, TN. We have looked for sometime for his parents and now have a clue. There was a Nicholas Burnett granted land (near where John G. Burnett said he was born!) in Sullivan County that could be his father. Does anyone out there have a Nicholas that may have strayed away from VA in late 1700s ?? Family stories from many branches seem to say that John G's father (maybe Nicholoas?) died when John G. was very young so that would be before 1820...
