Sarah,
I have a couple direct HOLLAND - TURNER marriages in my computer. None of
them occur in GA though.However, both are end of lines for me at the moment,
so maybe they moved. I've listed the ancestors of both marriages below as a
reference.

1. Sally TURNER-1818. Sally married Drury HOLLAND-1826 on 1785.
Second Generation
2. Elijah TURNER-1787 was born in Bedford Co., VA. He married Sarah ___-1816.
3. Sarah ___-1816.
Third Generation
4. James TURNER-7820 was born 1710 in Caroline Co., VA. He died 1793 in
Bedford Co., VA. James married Mary ADMIRE (?)-7821 about 1730. According to
a published genealogy cira 1940 by Walter Hopkins of Richmond, VA and
others at about the same time, James' line came from England and apparently
was not related to the John/Shadrack line of Patrick and Henry Counties,
Virginia which were believed from Scotland.
5. Mary ADMIRE (?)-7821.
Fourth Generation
8. James TURNER-8158 was born about 1690. James appears in the census of
1705 in the Parrish of St. Peters in New Kent County, VA.

John M. HOLLAND-1874 on 5 Apr 1824 in Franklin Co., VA. Frances was born in
Franklin Co., VA.
Second Generation
2. William TURNER-499 was born 20 Jan 1753 in VA. He died 11 Dec 1845 in
Henry Co., (later Franklin), VA. William married Jane HUNTER-493 on 17 Apr
1773 in Pittsylvania Co., VA. William served in the Revolutionary War in
John Cunningham's Company under Col. Abram Penn.
3. Jane HUNTER-493 was born 4 May 1758 in Louisa Co., VA. She died 20 May
1851 in Franklin Co., VA.
Third Generation
4. Shadrack TURNER-357 was born about 1720 in England. He died about 1783 in
Henry County, VA. Shadrack married Ann HILL-358 about 1745 in King & Queen
Co, or Hanover Co, VA. Shadrack was a land owner in Halifax County (later
Pittsylvania Co.) before coming to Henry County Virginia.
5. Ann HILL-358 was born 1724. She died after 1784 in Henry Co., VA.
6. William HUNTER-884 was born before 1740. He died 1 Nov 1813. William
married Charity LOFTIS-885.

inclined to think that Shadrack TURNER was English.

Thanks Nyla, I needed that, a smile is always good and a ray of sunshine
you just passed onto me. I know I saw several names which frequently occur

my family, i.e. Elisha, William, Jesse, Louis, (my father) Joseph, Lydia,
Lucinda,,
Clorinda/Clocinda, but the Elisha, William, Joseph, Lydia, Jesse came down
through the line that my cousin tracked and information I have available.

I think I sent her a message. But I'm having CRS today. If they are
Burnett's they are mine but I still don't have my elusive Turners. I'm
going to start looking at Cajun stuff -- It's possible they were

Samuel Burnett m. 11 Aug 1813 in Patrick Co, Va to Lavina "Leah" Cox. He
was son of Jeremiah Burnett (III) and EFFANIAH CROWLEY. An error was
printed in first version of Vol. 1, BURNETTS & THEIR CONNECTIONS, that
Jeremiah married 1/ Mary Johnston, dau of Amos. It has been proven that
Jeremiah married only twice, instead of the 4 to 5 wife theory shown in
DAR records. Effie was mother of all his children, the daughter of
Samuel Crowley (namesake of Samuel Burnett). He married 2/ 1835 in
Patrick to Jane (Ganay) Turner, dau of Adam. Jane had no children.

Hi! I am hoping that someone from the group may have information about
Drucilla Price "Pricey" Philpott. She was born July 22, 1791 in Henry Co.,
Va and died Feb. 9, 1871 in Franklin Co., VA. She married Josiah Hunter
Turner Sr., son of
William Turner and Jane Hunter, on Mar. 11, 1810 in Franklin Co.
I wrote to the Office of Vital Records in Richmond to get a copy of her death
record, hoping that her parents' names would be on it. They sent back a
reply that they did not have a record of her death.
Would anybody have further information about her?
