I have just completed uploading Compilations 1-191 to my website in
zipped form so that anyone who needs to search the files can download
them. Also, I have posted the first two photographs to the BURNETT-
TURNER-VIA-ROSS PHOTO ALBUM! This page can be seen by going

Has any one got a Leonard Turner in their notes anywhere? Leonard was
born abt. 1776 probably in Virginia was married 17 Jan. 1797 to Matilda H.
(?), in Greenbrier County Virginia later West Virginia. Leonard and Matilda
had son Samual Preston Turner abt 1832 who married Sarah Jane Atha 2
Dec.1858 Monroe Co. Virginia later West Virginia. All the above are buried
in Summers Co. West Virginia. I have ran into dead ends on their ancestors
any help would be appericiated.

a beautiful bride obviously takes after the Greek half and not the "Heinz
57" as my father, Louis Olin Turner used to tell us! It would sure help that
I let you know where my family came from on the Turner side I can only
track to Elisha Turner I, as being in Hartland Vt and m. Betsey Paterson/
Patterson on 10 April 1788. He served in the Castleton VT Campaign
under Dudley's Co, John Abbot's Div. recently sent for his military record

On July 30, Patricia Ford asked if anyone had directions to the old Burnett
plantation in Essex County. If her question was answered, I missed it and
am interested in that same information myself.
Also, directions to the old Burnett cemetery in SC were given in at least
one of the compliations, but what I am wondering, is does anyone have a
listing of just who is buried there?
Hope some of my cousins-in-law <g> have the answers to these two
preplexing questions.

Nyla, this is Danny A. McBee again. I have started searching through all of
the Turner Compilations. I began with the newest ones: #182, 183, 184, 185,
186, 187, 188, 189, 190, and 191. I then started with #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,
8, 9, and at this moment I am going through #10. Last night I ran off #11 -
#20. I am finding all of this information so helpful. I am filling in
dates, marriages, etc. I am also finding information that makes you want to
know even more: Ex: Are our Shadrack Turner descendants related to the
James Turner who was Governor of N. C. at one time? Who in the world was
George Turner married to Susannah Adams. Are our Turners related to any
famous people (or are we famous? LOL). I am having so much fun with the
Turners (makes me wish I was a Turner descendant. I am married to Belinda
Thomas whose mother Francis Louise Turner descends directly from the Shadrack
Turner line).
Just wanted to take moment to say THANK YOU for all the hard work you
have put in and to DAVID JONES and CHRISTINE GAUNT as well as
the hundreds of other Turner geneaologists who have made this search so
interesting and rewarding. I had a thought that we could all have our own
chat line that we could save in our favorite places and when we came
online we could check to see if any other Turner researchers are online.
What do you think of that idea? Well, once again, from the beautiful State

. He has a Robertson H. Turner born 1 Nov 1808 .These dates are right for my
R.H. Turner. Name spelled Robertson not Roberson.He says parents were
Richard Turner b. 17 Nov.1779 in Va. and Mary Henderson .Hendersons from
Jasper Co. Ga. Richard d.1852 Newton Co. Ga. Dennis says Shadrack Turner and
Margaret Hill were parents of Richard. Shadrack Turner b. 1752 d. 1820 .He
goes on to say this Shadrack was the son of Meshack Turner b abt 1725 d.1794
. I found in your Comp.187 page 1 14. Shadrack Turner-514 b 1752 d 1820 m
Margaret Hill also list a son Richard who married Mary Henderson .this could
be the line I need. Is there anything else that you have on this Richard?
