Mr. Franklin moved to Mojave with the development of the Gold Queen mine,
where he was a mechanic, and since WWII have lived at 2015 Inyo Street in a
home they built. After the mine closed he was caretaker for 12 years.
He was a Deacon of the First Southern Baptist Church in Mojave and when
the new church was built he donated the church organ in memory of his wife.

This information was given to me by a cousin, Jane Turner Hamm many years
ago.
(81) Larkin Turner, son of Jeremiah & Rachel Ross Turner was born in Va.
approx. 1798 from the Cumberland Co., Ky census records of 1850 and was
listed as a farmer. He died there by 1859 according to his will which gives
his sale and appraisal as 4-9-1859. Larkin married Jane Heard app. 1821 in
Va. Jane was born app. 1798, Henry Co., Va., the daughter of William
Heard,Jr. and his wife Jane Hickey. Jane died 8-15-1852, age 54 yrs.,
William Heard, Jr. was the son of William Heard, Sr. Jane Hickey was the
dau. of John Hickey and his wife Mary from the 1784 Henry Co., Va. will. Old
Larkin Turner, son of Shadrack and brother of Jeremiah was married to Mary
Hickey, a dau. of John Hickey. Young Larkin, son of Jeremiah was a pioneer
farmer, hunter and fisherman according to his grandsons. There is a family
story that Larkin would tell the children when his wife got mad at them that
she was part Catawba Indian although I find no proof of it. Larkin lived on
Casey Fork Creek. The children from the 1850 census of Cumberland Co., Ky.
