The following Land Entries cover the present Virginia Counties of Halifax, 
Pittsylvania, Henry, Franklin and Patrick.  They are surveys of land but the 
applicant did not always settle upon the land and improve it and therefore 
many entries were voided.  The original Entry Book is in the Clerk's Office 
at the Pittsylvania County Courthouse at Chatham, VA:

1748 Apr 27 - (p.89)
	JOHN TURNER enters 400 acres at the mouth of GOBLINTOWN
CREEK on both sides also 400 acres at the lower end of the Peach Tree
Bottom on ye N. side of IRWIN RIVER (now Smith River).

1748 Oct 7  (p.101)
	Joseph Gray enters 400 acres  on the N. side of Irwin River beg.
400 yards above a cabin WHEREON JOHN TURNER LIVED -
SURVEYED FOR JOHN TURNER; also 400 acres on N. side of Irwin
River ABOVE A CABIN WHEREIN JOHN TURNER LATELY LIVED.

1753 Feb 19 - (p.176)
	SHADRACK TURNER entered 400 acres where Edmund Gray
began his survey on Burtons line on Great Cherrystone; also 400 acres on
broad run beginning where Jeremiah Scafe crossed with his line.

1756 Jun 24 - (p.240)
	JOHN TURNER - 400 acres on N. side of Irwin River about 12
miles above the MOUTH OF GOBLINTOWN CREEK to begin at a
poplar branded "I"

Green Rock Creek where the old road crosses it and down on both sides &
extending towards Bearskin.

1766 Aug 12 - (p.368)
	Jeremiah Worsham enters 400 acres on Towel's Branch of
Cherrystone Creek joining Curries order line, JOHN LOVINGS &
SHADRACK TURNERS

1767 Jan 6  - (p.394)
	SHADRACK TURNER enters 400 acres on the right hand fork of
Butteram Town Creek above the walnut bottom beginning at the beech;
also 400 acres on the above said fork the last mentioned entry.
