Nyla,
I am searching for my Turner Roots in Andrew County, MO. I have a
compilation of all
"Turner" marriages in Missouri before 1850. If anyone wants me to look up a
Turner
name to see if that Turner married in Missouri before 1850, please e-mail me
at
HRDgaryT@aol.com. Thanks, Gary

Hello,
I have enjoyed your news letters very much. I am looking for some information
on the Via
family. The particuliar line I am researching is from Virginia. Some names I
am
researching are the family of Percy Via who married Claire Hunt, one of their
children is
Woodrow Wilson Via. I think this family originated around Charlottesville.
Any family
information would be useful. Via is the family name of my mother. Thank you,
Dorothy

Thanks for the offer. Are all folks from the East so kind and
considerate? Having only lived in southern Cal and Arizona, I find most
people here to be somewhat distant. Anyway, full time school, full time
work, hubby and 3 little ones keep me MORE than busy. I will post
another e-mail in the future about my Turner line. I would desperately
LOVE to find a connection with the fine folks on your list. Attending a
Turner reunion would also be great. There MUST be a connection somewhere
down the line. I almost feel like an orphan as I was on 3 genealogy
lists and not one "hit". I'm not one to give up, however. I'll be in
touch soon.

My best regards, Sharron Krueger in Tucson Arizona

I look forward to hearing about your line. Looking forward to learning
about your
line. Let's tell people about your line. Who knows when someone looking for
the same
Turners might see your eMail.
I'm not certain if being from the East or the West makes that much
difference. I
really enjoy this list and all the people. There's about 185 folks at least
on this list. Some
come, some go, but the majority of us are still here. Without a doubt, this
is the greatest
bunch of people you'd find anywhere. We have folks from one end of the
country to the
other, and everyone is nice. Whether from the East or the West, the North or
the South,
everyone is looking for that family connection.
Looking forward to receiving your information.

Nyla,

You said e-mails were slow, so I thought that I would suggest your
including obituaries in your compilations. I hadn't seen any, but
thought it might be a good idea. The following obit has lots of good
information. It is from the Roanoke Times and was copied from the
internet Web Site
<http://www.roanoke.com/roatimes/classifieds/obits.html>

TURNER, Louise Cooper, 95, of Clemson, S.C., died Tuesday, October 21,
1997 at Clemson Downs Health Care Center. A native of Graham, N.C.,
she was the daughter of the late Williamson Lee and Geneva Albright
Cooper. She was a homemaker and florist. She was a member of Fort Hill
Presbyterian Church, where she was a long time member of the choir. She
also received the honor of life membership in Presbyterian Women.
Surviving are her son, Ernest Craig Turner, Jr. of Blacksburg; her
brother, James Cooper of Richmond; three grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 9:30 a.m. Thursday,
October 23, 1997 at Old Stone Church Cemetery, followed by a memorial
services at 10 a.m. at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church. Visitation
immediately following the memorial service at the church. In lieu of
flowers, memorials may be made to the Fort Hill Presbyterian Church
Endowment Fund, 399 College Ave., Clemson, S.C. 29631. Arrangements
by Duckett Funeral Home.^E

I would be willing to send them to you from time to time, if you are
interested.

I am searching for information on my grandmother Bessie Cornelia Turner.
she was born August 27,1880. I assume in Liberty or surrounding county Ga.
She married my Grandfather, Farley Jessie Mobley abt 1896, again assuming
in Liberty or surrounding county Ga... Any information about her and her
family,
would be most appreciated... The only other fact that I know, is that she had
indian blood, full or part, I am not sure... she was supposed to be
Cherokee...

I have downloaded the first 100 compilations, but at my age (65) may never
find
what I am looking for in such a large file....I am pleased that so many folks
are
interested in their ancestors.... I have a large file on the Mobley's and the
Lyttons (my
mothers side of the family) and would love to add something about my
grandmothers side
of the family... if I can serve anyone with the
Mobleys or Lyttons my files are at your disposal.....Again I thank you for
any
information you may have on my grandmother..... Marvin L Mobley

This is for DAVID (n4jed)

WHOEVER IS INTERESTED IN THE BURNETT LINE FROM ABERDEEN:

I have just heard from June Baldwin Bork who wrote the huge
compilation that I have used to a certain extent, but have
checked where I could on the facts, has written to me and others
who bought her book. June herself is not online but if someone
wants her address I would be glad to pass it on.

She says:"The ancesry of our first JOHN BURNETT HAS BEEN FOUND!
He was christened on Christmas Day, 1610. Enclosed is a
chart...." at any rate, she offers to give details on how she
found all this after years and years of research.

I can send you a copy by scanner attatchment (2) if you are a
descendant of this BURNETT. For years they have been trying to
prove that he was a BURNETT of LEYS or NOT a BURNETT of LEYS, the
cavalier under Charles I who had one of the first land patents in
this country.

David, this is the line you and I have been discussing. If others
are interested, please pass it on.

Thanks,
Caroline Burnett Cook
