Jubal married (1) Milly ROSS-1815, daughter of John ROSS-1436 and
Relender BASWELL-1437 on 16 May 1818 in Franklin Co., VA. Milly
was b. 1797 in VA. She d. 18 Mar 1870 in Monroe Co., IA.
There is question as to which John Ross was father of Milly. Many
researchers have listed Milly with John of Adair Co., North Carolina. In
those listings, she appears as the only child b. in Virginia in the middle
of all the other children b. in North Carolina. She fits better with John
from Franklin Co., Virginia. Here she is listed with Sutherland Ross as
brother. Sutherland was surety for Milly when she married Jubal and a
direct family tie makes more sense. Jubal and Milly had the following
children:
