I thought you might want to post this in the Turner Compilations.
Since I was unable to reach James H. Turner, PhD by phone, I wrote him a
note enclosing the copy of information from J.D.Turner's submission to the
Turner Newsletter in Feb of 1976. James H. and James D. corresponded for
several years up to James D.'s death and shared information on the Turners.
I will quote directly from James H.'s letter to me.
My question to him was "Was this James Dana Turner's opinion about
Shadrack's origin through the years until his death?" He answered, "No,
sorry, but James DAna Turner came to the conclusion that Shadrack's origins
were not valid."
I have copies of some of their letters and Jim has invited me to come visit
and spend as much time as I like with their correspondence. If his health
permits, I hope to do this during the next two weeks. I'll be happy to
share anything I find of interest.

I'm sorry I forgot to send you a change of address for me. Here is
the new one in the signature. Also have a question for you or the group on
one Esther Turner. I do not know her parents, siblings. All I know is that
she was born in 1765 in Gloucester Co. VA. She married John Adams and they
had three children: Sarah, Samuel and Nancy. So far I see no connection of
her into my other Turner line in Halifax County.

My grandfather Turner married Ada Rose Kathleen Dickins sometime about 1916. His

I would very much like to have any information you have on the Via's from
Va., as they are my mothers family. She is the daughter of Woodrow Wilson
Via, who is the son of James Percy Via. Any further I draw a blank. I know
