Hi Nyla,
I am interested in subscribing to the "newsletter" that I heard you put out.
Is this possible?

My Turners were in Loudoun Co. (1757->), Fairfax Co. (before 1757), and
Northumberland Co. in 1706. I have a lot of info. I'd be happy to share on
FIELDING TURNER (b.1706-d.1794), WILLIAM TURNER (1733-18??), LEWIS ELLZEY
TURNER (1754-1823). I also have info. on many of the people related to these
3.

Thanks, Pam in Baton Rouge psulzer@tyrell.net

Kevin,

While I can understand your desire to help others "catch up" with the
older compilations, I think it would be best to let them get the files
themselves. I've discovered that there are some email systems that will
not allow messages over a certain length, as my autoreply for the
gresinet.txt file bounces regularly with some internet providers.

Also, it probably would be best to call "Genealogy Resources on the
Internet" by its usual filename, gresinet.txt, so folks know what they are
getting. There is a link to a zipped version of gresinet.txt from the
World Wide Web section of Genealogy Resources on the Internet. I could
easily add a link to it from the Burnett/Turner/Via/Ross/Etc page.

Do you think the compilations should be available via email?

Chris

PS. You might want to let folks know that you are sending a large
attachment with your email *before* you send it. Even those of us with
large mailboxes sometimes are very near the maximum [sigh!] and would
probably need to clean out some of the older messages before receiving a
1Meg message.

Hello Nyla,

My Burnett tree is really quite limited (so far), but that means it can only
grow!

I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone that can extend my BURNETT
ancestry back, or that is interested in my line!

Subject: More Burnetts... This is great

Nyla, for the next compilation....

Folks, I've tried this before... I'll try it again -- Hopefully, there's some
new folks...! I'm particularly intrigued by the James Burnett of Pittsylvania
Co. My g-g-g-grandfather was JOHN GREENBERRY BURNETT (1810-1893). He was
born, lived and died in Sullivan County, TN. Census records indicate his
parents were Virginians. His children were: Decatur Hamilton Burnett, Simon
Peter Burnett, Martin Van Buren Burnett, John A. Burnett, Andrew Burnett,
Cyrus Burnett, Martha Burnett Miller -- all born from 1833 to about 1850 in
Sullivan County, TN.

Who were his parents?? Family legends consistently down multiple lines say
the same thing... 1) His father or grandfather came from Ireland (Dublin to
be specific). 2) His father was named John or Greenberry (Berry) ... 3)
that his father went hunting one day when he was very young and disappeared.
And, 4) that his mother was most likely Cherokee (John G DID speak
Cherokee).

Are the legends true?? Who knows! But, I'm hoping that if there some shred
of truth to them some of you may recognize the stories. Also... anyone have
a John (born around 1780) who might have disappeared from your radar screen??

Gary
