You asked for it so here it comes again. Following is my
compilation of all the TURNER info that has come across the
internet and from other sources I have worked with. For anyone
new to the list, please use this as a outline to begin your own
research, do not look at this as gospel. There is unconfirmed
info throughout this along with just plain good guesses. I
believe in adding possible connections and waiting for them to be
proven wrong (not too often). Have fun with this and thanks to

Descendants of John TURNER
First Generation
1. John TURNER was born about 1690 in Lands End, Cornwall,
England. He died about 1744 in Caroline Co., VA. John married
(1) Elizabeth ___. They had the following children:
+ 2 M i. Shadrack TURNER was born about 1720 and
died about 1783.
+ 3 M ii. Meshack S. TURNER was born about 1722
and died 28 Jan 1794.
4 M iii. Abednego TURNER. There is a family
tradition of existence of a third brother, Abednego; but no
documented record has been found for a wife or family.
Second Generation
2. Shadrack TURNER was born about 1720 in England. He died
about 1783 in Henry County, VA. Shadrack was a land owner in
Halifax County (later Pittsylvania Co.) before coming to Henry
County Virginia. Whether Shadrack and his brothers came from
England and when is not definitive. There is also doubt, for the
same reason, as to whether John is their father. Shadrack
married (1) Ann HILL about 1745 in King & Queen Co, or Hanover
Co, VA. Ann was born 1724. She died after 1784 in Henry Co., VA.
They had the following children:

died 17 Mar 1812.

3. Meshack S. TURNER was born about 1722 in England. He died 28
Jan 1794 in Wilkes Co., GA. Meshack was living in Pittsylvania
Co. VA in 1784 and moved to Georgia about 1785. He is believed
to have married twice with the three children listed below by his
first wife. Meshack married (1) ___. They had the following

Abbeville, SC; also associated with Henry Co., VA (1770 land
record) and Wilkes Co., GA. Ab married (1) ___ COLLIER about
1774 in VA. She was born about 1754. Ab also married (2) Phoebe
WALLER, daughter of John WALLER and Elizabeth ___ on 1801 in
Abbeville, SC.
Meshack also married (2) Rebekah ROBERTSON, daughter of James
ROBERTSON on 6 Feb 1760 in Halifax Co., VA. Rebekah was born
about 1730 in VA. She died 4 Jan 1797 in Wilkes Co., GA. They

6. John M. TURNER was born 1749/1750 in Lunenburg Co., (later
Halifax), VA. He died 17 Mar 1812 in Franklin Co., VA. John
fought in the Revolutionary War. He was Captain of a company
under Col. Penn's Battalion, Campbell's Regiment, of the Virginia
Militia. He received land for his service. John married (1)
Elizabeth "Betsy" PRICE, daughter of Joseph Shores PRICE and
Charity BAGBY on 13 Jun 1786 in Franklin Co., VA. Betsy was born
1758/1760 in VA. They had the following children:
