Nancy Alma Turner Parker; "Alma" was born in Patrick County, VA, 16 Sep
1905, and passed away peacefully while in the hospital in Roanoke, VA during
the afternoon of 27 Jun 2000.

Alma was my mother's sister and one of the two surviving children of Alvah
Jeremiah Turner and Nancy Jane Turner. Alma was a descendant of both Francis
Turner and Shadrack Turner. There is one surviving (younger) sister, Cora
Coffman, living in Chesapeake, VA. There were originally 11 children. Their
mother, Nancy
Jane Turner Turner, was 96 when she died. [Yes, she was a Turner marrying a
Turner. No prior relationship between the two families has been found.] My
mother was just short of 94, and Alma was a couple months short of 95. Thus
far, these three ladies are the record setters for their nuclear family.

The memorial service will be held at Oakey's South Chapel, Roanoke, VA,
2:00 PM, Saturday, July 1, 2000.

Ann N. Hughes

Hi, Folks,

Digest 13 was created, but it appears it was never sent out. I'm not sure
what the problem is, but you can access it at:

http://www-personal.umich.edu/~cgaunt/etc/v00i13.txt

I've modified the digest so that it now uses the digest program that comes
with Smartlist. I'm hoping that it will behave better. I did not receive
#13 via mail, and doubt that anyone did. :-( Hopefully #14 and on will
work better.

Please bear with me,

The family reunion of the descendants of Jacob and Walburga Prillaman is held
annually on the last Sunday in July at the Franklin County Recreation Park in
Franklin County, Virginia. This year that would be July 30th. The park is
located about 2 miles east of Route 220 on state route 619. State route 619
intersects 220 about 2 miles south of Rocky Mount, Virginia. Drive through
the park to the LARGE picnic shelter - look for signs. The reunion includes a
business meeting beginning at 1 pm followed by a picnic lunch - bring a dish
to share if you can. Also, please bring any photos or other Prillaman family
memorabilia that you would like to share.

HI I'm new to the list and I'm looking for information on my gggg
grandmother, Louisa Virginia Turner. From the information my grandmother
left she was born in 1838. she married a James Ellyson Via 25 Dec 1855 in
Patrick Co., VA. She died 10 May 1896. I know that in the census there is a
Permelia Turner living with them. But I can't seem to find any information
on her family. I am going back to check more census records in a week. But
does anyone have any information? I'd like to have a better idea of where to
look.

Thank You-

Jennifer Mastin

Hi Jennifer
I have a Permelia Turner, b. April 19, 1814, d. 1898. Daughter of John Rev.
Turner, b. September 21, 1779, Hanover Co., VA. He died May 20, 1874,
Patrick Co., VA. He married Nancy Burnett October 15, 1804 in Patrick Co.,
VA. Nancy, b. August 15, 1787 in Hanover Co., VA; d. November 19, 1871 in
Patrick Co., VA.

I don't have any more data on Permelia, but if this fits, I have Permelia
and John's families listed on WorldConnect.

I also have Permelia Corn Turner, b. 1825, probably Elamsville, Patrick Co.,
VA, who married George Lewis Carter.
