Question on the Descendants of Jeremiah Burnett. Page 7 of Digest V98 #20.
2nd marriage of Jeremiah is stated as Jane "Ganay" Turner, daughter of Adam
Turner. I had Ganay Jane Turner married to Samuel who is the son of Jeremiah.
Can someone set me straight on who was married to Ganay Jane Turner? Would
love to correct my genealogy. Hope to hear from one of the Burnett
genealogists. Danny A. McBee, McBee49@aol.com.

Sherry Harris,
Are you still on the list? Please contact me to share info on these families.
They are both distantly in my line.
Thanks.

Was looking at a map documenting gold mines and placer sites in Virginia and
lo-and-behold there is a recorded historic site on Polebridge Creek just
around the corner of Bull Mountain from Elamsville and Goblintown Creek in
Patrick County (About 3 miles from Elamsville.) where significant quantities
of gold were found.
Also a couple sites in Floyd County.

So, who has gold stories in the family tree they haven't shared with the rest
of us?

I am new to the list. I, too, have a JEREMIAH BURNETT. He was bon circa 1750.
In 1773, Jeremiah Burnett of Dinwiddie Co., VA bought land in Lunenburg Co.
(DB12/311) He died circa 1813 Lunenburg Co. (WB7/116) His wife was MILDRED
(last name unknown at this time) Children of JEREMIAH andMILDRED Burnett,
 FIELDING (d. 1814), SPENCER (d. 1816), FORESTER (m. Margaret Andrews),
CATHERINE (m. Robert Manuell or Murrell),MATILDA (m. John Goodwin), JUDITH,
JOEL, PHILIP m. Martha w. Andrews), ROBERT (m. Cloe Maddux), LEROY (m. Ann
Keats), JEREMIAH (m. Diana Davis), JOANNA (m. William Davis)
I am descendant of PHILIP BURNETT and MARTHA ANDREWS (m. 1799) Their daughter
MARTHA WASHINGTON BURNETT (b. 1815, d. 1888) married ISHAM BROWDER 8 December
1836 in Lunenburg Co. Virginia. They later moved to Chesterfield County, VA.
I would like to hear from anyone with information on this line. Any
information would be appreciated. Thank you.
Mildred Flinn

Mildren Flinn:
Your Jeremiah Burnett was born about 1737-41 in Essex Co, Va; d. before 11 Nov
1813 in Lunenburg Co, Va; m. about 1770 to Mildred Upshaw.
All of your family, back to 1600s, is in BURNETTS & THEIR CONNECTIONS,

Folks: Can anyone help Jim with his Burnett line? Nyla

I came across your name while searching for Burnett surname information.
I hope you can help or can refer me to someone who might be able to
help.

I am a descendant of Ester Burnett (1653-1714), who married Christopher
Leaming in 1674 at Southampton, Long Island. We believe she is a
daughter of Thomas Burnett of Southampton, although a diary entry by a
grandson (Aaron Leaming, II) claims she is the daughter of Aaron
Burnett. We found a record that stated "She died at the home of Enoch
Fethian, her brother in-law". He was married to Miriam Burnett, a
daughter of Thomas Burnett. So if Miriam is her sister, Thomas must be
her father. Aaron Burnett, a son of Thomas, was therefore her brother
not her father.

Given that Thomas Burnett is her father (a strong probability at this
point), who is he descended from? What I have on him is: he married Mary
____ , possibly Mary Pierson, 3 Dec 1663 at Lynn Massachusetts and died
in 1684 at Southampton, Long Island, NY. He had at least 8 children:
John, Aaron, Lot, Miriam, Joel, Dan, Mordecai, and Matthias. Another
listing included a Hester who we think is Ester, my 5th great
grandmother.

Is this enough to connect him back to Scotland and, would you have any
sources that might confirm Ester is his daughter? I would appreciate
anything you might have that would help connect Ester back to her family
in Scotland.

Thank you in advance.

Jim Fina
