Administrivia:
for the Burnett/Turner/Ross/Via/Etc Mailing List (BTRVETC-L)

Welcome to all our new subscribers; please send us a message to let us
know what lines you are working on. :-)

We became automated 19 Jan 1998, with everyone that had been on Nyla Creed
DePauk's list of subscribers being subscribed to the digest, which (kind)
replaces the compilations. There is also a regular list, where you
receive messages one at a time. If you wish that version, unsubscribe
from the digest, and subscribe to the regular list (see below).

Please do not send your emails to Nyla any longer; if you do, she will
send them to the list. Please post your messages to:

     btrvetc-l@genealogy.org (that's a lowercase ell, not a number one.)

***** Do not send attachments or multipart MIME messages to the list! *****
***** Send only plain text. Microsoft Outlook and Express seem to do *****
***** this without the poster knowing. Check your configuration. *****
***** Thanks! *****

To unsubscribe, email btrvetc-d-request@genealogy.org with the
SUBJECT: UNSUBSCRIBE.

To subscribe to the regular list, email btrvetc-l-request@genealogy.org

1. How to subscribe. Whatever you just did worked, or you'd
not be getting this message. But for future reference (for instance,
if your subscription is cancelled for whatever reason and you
want to resubscribe), just send the command "subscribe" to
VAPATRIC-L-request@rootsweb.com.

2. How to unsubscribe. Send a message to

VAPATRIC-L-request@rootsweb.com

that contains (in the body of the message) the command

unsubscribe

and no additional text.

3. How to change to digest mode (several postings are combined and
sent to you together as a single large message). There are two
steps. First, send the command "unsubscribe" to
VAPATRIC-L-request@rootsweb.com to discontinue mail mode. Second,
send the command "subscribe" to VAPATRIC-D-request@rootsweb.com
to start receiving digests.

4. How to change to NOMAIL mode. There is no formal NOMAIL mode.
All you have to do is follow the directions above and unsubscribe
when you want the messages to stop, and then when you want them
to start again, simply subscribe again.

5. If you'd like to post a message so everyone on the mailing
list receives it, just send it to VAPATRIC-L@rootsweb.com. It
will then be sent on to everyone in both mail and digest mode.
You don't need to send it explicitly to both.

Can you help? Trying to find info on Burnett family. Most of what I
have from mid-1750 to 1900 is unsubstantiated. Would appreciate anything
on:
Jeremiah Burnett II born 1740 in Talbot County, MD or VA and died
before 1816 in Wayne County, KY. Wife unknown. His son was William
Burnett Sr.
William Sr. born 1762, Albemarle County Virginia. He died before 1850
in Floyd County, Kentucky. Will married Elizabeth (maybe burnett?)born
1766 in Bedford County, Virginia. She died before 1850 in Patrick
County, Virginia. Their son was William Jr.
William Jr... born before 1793 in Patrick County, and died before June
1850 in Floyd County. Wife was Garten Thompson, daughter of Henry
Thompson and Lucy Harris. Garten was born around 1799 in Patrick County
and died after 1880. their child was Henry Burnett. He was born in 1828
and died after 1870.
Henry Burnett was married to Mary "Polly" Hall. Her parents were
Zaddock Hall and Elizabeth Bownman. Their child was Martha Burnett.
Martha Burnett was born around 1850 in Patrick County, VA. She never
married but had a child named John Burnett born October 19th 1873 in
Patrick County. He died November the 4th 1937 in Patrick County. He
lived most of his life in Meadows of Dan in the beautiful Blue Ridge
Mountains.
