Greetings to Everyone:

I have an inquiry from Bill Prentice (bprentice@juno.com). Does anyone
recognize this Turner family? I have suggested that Bill join out list. In
the meantime, maybe someone will recognize this family and can let us all
know.

Our Turners stem from our maternal side, a marvelous woman, and are
principly from Montgomery County, Virginia, generally north of
Blacksburg. John L Turner (1824) m Sarah W. Phelps (1825) and their
son, Henry Newton Turner (1852) m Mary Catherine Murdock (1856) who was
the daughter of Rebecca Wrightsman(1825) the first wife of Elijah Murdock
(1821).

It may be, of more than passing interest, that we have a portrait of
Henry Newton Turner & Mary Catherine Murdock.
