The lab notebook
serves as a place to collect observations and data and serve as a
record for any experiementation that you carry out in studio.. You
can also carry out calculations, begin writing out conclusions, etc.
- What is
your procedure...what did you do? Write down exactly
what you did. Record quantities of chemicals that
you use as you use them and observations as you make them.
- Sketch a
picture of your experimental set-up.
- Make observations
(can't say this one enough.)
- Record measurements
(a table is often very helpful!)
- If a graph
is appropriate, sketch it in.
For each experiment,
the recorder in your group is primarily responsible for ensuring
that his/her notebook contains all of this information. Notes
in your courspack or other notebook may be assessed as a portion
of in-class points.
