A MUD is a site in the internet where people from all over the world can roleplay and interact in virtual worlds. In other words, a MUD is a place for you to meet other people in an imaginary computer world.If you want to learn more about MUDs, keep on checking this site out! I have put in links that will tell you about the history of the MUD. Then I have suggested a couple sites for you to check out to see for yourself what a MUD is. And if that's not enough, then I've listed a couple sites that are MUD collectors. In ohter words, you can connect to hundreds of MUDs from these sites!!!!! Yahoooo!!!!

"The history of MUDs all start in the UK about 1979. Roy Trubshaw, a student at Essex University, started writing MUD, a game written in BCPL on a DEC-10. Along with Richard Bartle, who tidied up the system and added a very crude database computer for it, they produced a very good combat game for it.
Since most of this' early history' stuff got passed down by word of mouth, here's how it 'really happened..."

Paintball Net is an ongoing tournament of Paintball where players compete against each other and computer-controlled 'bots.' The game features many unusual pieces of equipment (camies, jetpacks, locators, etc.) that can be 'bought' with game dollars that you earn by surviving games and collecting tokens.
This MUD is based on my favorite trilogy, The Star Wars Trilogy, henceforth, the Jedi Mud. The mud offers a constantly growing environment with friendly gods, and an administration that listens to players suggestions. This MUD also offers:
- Limited player killing(only assassins can kill other assassins, or at war)
- 6 classes (Bounty Hunter, Jedi, Healer, Thief, Warrior, Emperor's Hand)
- 7 races (Rodian, Wookiee, Gotal, Devaronian, Human, Ithorian, Twi'lek)
- Ongoing guests based on class (i.e. assigned bounties per level)
- Multi-playing encouraged
- Quest-only equipment

XTC is a very colorful, highly modified AberMUD. As a mortal the main goal is to kill mobiles and complete quests in order to obtain immortal status. Besides going around and killing everything, one can converse with other players, throw frisbees, plant bombs, play trivia, and many other fun things.
This MUD is an experimental, good-time MUD. It has just started up, so there is no scoring system like other MUDs. There is total privacy most of the time, and the main objective is to have fun and meet other people. What more can you ask for!

Not only does this connector have MUDs, MOOs and chat lines, it uses the alphabet to organize all the sites! How convenient!!
