complete 6 Page story drawn by Golden Age Comics great PIERCE RICE, published
in ALL-NEW COMICS Harvey Comics in 1945. This complete 6 Page story is titled "Poison
for Rats." Patrolman Rufe Gardner and his pals, Toughy, Stretch, and Specs
market ring in this "kid gang" romp. Check out that great splash
page panel depicting Hitler and Tojo as rats in a rat trap cage. There are
some characters' heads (sort of like a model sheet) on the back of page 1.
PIERCE RICE (1916 - 2003) worked for Fox Comics, Fawcett and Centaur, but mainly
for Harvey, dong features like Zebra, Green Hornet, Captain After the war he
worked at DC on such titles as Spectre, Crimson Avenger, Manhunter, Slam Bradley
and Seven Soldiers of Victory. Other post-Harvey, Ace, Standard, Gleason, Ziff-Davis,
ACG, Eastern and Topps. In the '50s Rice left comics for magazine illustrations,
and eventually became teacher.
