Resolution to Support the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day March & Rally
Whereas, The 2000 University of Michigan Martin Luther King, Jr. Day March & Rally will take place on Monday, January 17.
Whereas, MLK Jr. dedicated his life to the fight for equality and integration. The MLK Day March and Rally is an opportunity for us to continue and renew this fight.
Whereas, This year's March & Rally at U of M will be a regional demonstration. The Martin Luther King Jr., Day March & Rally Planning Committee is conducting outreach to Ann Arbor and Detroit high schools, nearby colleges and universities, and local church and community groups.
Therefore be it resolved,
1. The Michigan Student Assembly supports and will send representatives to the
1999 Martin Luther King Jr., Day March & Rally.
2. MSA calls on U of M students, high school students and teachers, and students from other local colleges and universities to attend the March & Rally at the University of Michigan.
