Resolution to Reverse the Drop in Minority Enrollment

Whereas, the University of Michigan's annual enrollment report was released Tues. Nov. 30th.

Whereas, underrepresented minority enrollment has steadily declined since 1996.

Whereas, black freshmen enrollment dropped by 10.4% between fall 1998 to fall 1999.

Whereas, an integrated institution is beneficial to all students;

Resolved, The Michigan Student Assembly calls for a reverse in the drop of underrepresented minority enrollment.

Resolved, The Minority Affairs Commission will work with the Office of Admissions to create strategies to improve outreach and retention programs.
