Motion to Reach a Resolution of the Occupation
Whereas, Ten years ago on November 1, 1989, the Minority Affairs Commission and Michigamua reached an agreement that Michigamua would eliminate all references to Native American culture.
Whereas, Michigamua has failed to honor this Agreement.
Whereas, One week after students occupied the office of Michigamua on Sunday, February 6, 2000, the University of Michigan administration has failed to respond positively to the demands of the students occupying the tower.
Therefore be it resolved, the Michigan Student Assembly demands that the U of M administration stop stonewalling and meet the demands of the occupation.
Therefore be it resolved, MSA reiterates our call for no arrests, code charges, or disciplinary action of any sort be taken against any student involved with the occupation.
