Vic played four years of hockey at Concord High School in Massachusetts and one year at Tilton Academy before enrolling at Michigan. At U of M, Vic played center from 1935 to 1937 under Coach Ed Lowrey. His most memorable experience was scoring a goal against Minnesota goalie Bud Wilkinson. A second to that was playing the 1935 season with only seven players on the team. Vic was named captain for the 1937-1938 season. | |
After graduating from the School of Education, he played two years with the Chicago Blackhawks. During his college days, Vic also played baseball and was three year letterwinner in both sports. | |
