Connie came to the University of Michigan after playing on the Guelph Ontario Jr. A team and the Copper Cliff Redmen Senior B team. He played defense for four years under Coach Vic Heyliger. His most memorable experience was helping Michigan win the first NCAA Championship in 1948. Connie scored three goals in Michigan's 6 - 4 win over Boston College. He was a member of the first All-Tournament Team He was team Captain for three seasons and an All-American selection in 1949. | |
After graduation from the School of Literature, Science and Arts, Connie received an MA degree from Stanford and his PhD from the University of Iowa. | |
