| Lorne, from Kirkland Lake, Ontario, played for the Barry Jr. Hockey team before entering the University of Michigan. He had been drafted by the Boston Bruins but decided to enter U of M instead. One of the best goaltenders ever to play for the Maize and Blue, Lorne played on two NCAA Championship teams in 1955 and 1956.Lorne was the star goalie both years. | |
| Lorne was also a two-time All American and the team's Most Valuable Player in 1956. He graduated from the School of Literature, Science and Arts. | |
