| Ross hails from Toronto, playing hockey with DeLaSalle Oaklands, Jr. OHA Champs before coming to Michigan. Playing left defense for three years under Vic Heyliger from 1947-1950, Smitty was selected to the All American team for two years. He was a member of the NCAA All-Tournament team for two years and also team Most Valuable Player for two seasons. | |
