Reggie played hockey for the Moose Jaw Canucks, the Winnipeg Black Hawks and the Brandon Wheat Kings before enrolling at Michigan. Reg played left defense from 1950-51 to 1952-53 for the Maize and Blue. During his playing career in Ann Arbor, Michigan won 61 games, lost 15 and tied 1, out scoring its opponents 512 to 241 and he played on three consecutive NCAA Championship teams. | |
Not known for his scoring proficiency, he remembers scoring a hat trick against Michigan State. His most memorable experiences at the University of Michigan were twice being selected to the NCAA All-American Team in 1951-52 and 1952-53. Playing under Coach Vic Heyliger, Reg graduated from the School of Business Administration. | |
