| Kris Manery hails from Leamington, Ontario. He played right wing for the University of Michigan and earned four varsity letters with the Wolverines (1973-74 through 1976-77). He was captain of the 1976-77 team that placed second in the national championships, losing in overtime to Wisconsin. Kris played under coach Dan Farrell and earned his degree in Zoology in the School of Literature Science and the Arts. | |
| He set a Michigan career record for goals scored when he had a three-goal hat trick against Denver to reach 99 goals. Kris finished his career at Michigan with 111 goals and 97 assists. He became the 23rd player in Michigan history to reach the 100-point plateau and became the second Wolverine to reach 200 points. Kris was awarded the Hall Downs Most Valuable Player trophy in 1975-76. He was named second team all-WCHA selection as a junior and named WCHA first teams as a senior by both the Denver Post and WDAZ-TV. He was drafted by the California Seals of the National Hockey League and the Calgary Cowboys of the World Hockey Association. Kris signed with the Cleveland Barons of the NHL following his Michigan career. He played his professional career in the NHL with the Cleveland Barons, Minnesota North Stars, Vancouver Canucks and the Winnipeg Jets. | |
