Before enrolling at Michigan, Angie played for the Downview Boys Club, the Wexford Midgets and the Wexford Jr. B Team. Nicknamed "Big Ange", he was a scoring machine for Michigan for four years. His career statistics include 98 goals and 85 assists. Angie led the team in scoring in the 1973-1974 season with 47 points and in the 1974-1975 season with 67 points. | |
He was voted Most Colorful Rookie in 1973. Angie and teammate Greg Fox were the first two Michigan hockey players drafted by the NHL in the Amateur Draft in 1973. He was voted Most Valuable Player for the 1974-1975 season. His most memorable experience was winning the G.L.I. in 1974 when he scored two goals in a 2-0 victory over Michigan Tech. Angie graduated from the College of Literature, Science and the Arts with a Bachelor of Science. | |
