Originally from Sioux City, Iowa, Pete enrolled at the University of Michigan in the fall of 1949. He was the junior manager for the U of M Hockey Team in 1951-1952 and senior manager in 1952-1953 under Coach Vic Heyliger. Michigan won the NCAA Championship in both years. As manager, Pete handled much of the business for the team such as meals on the road trips. Pete was an avid "fan" of Michigan - both in sports and the Alumni Association. | |
He served on the board in control of intercollegiate athletics, served as president of the U of M Alumni Association and president of the M-Club of Cleveland. Pete graduated from the College of Literature, Science and the Arts. | |
