Authentication

Is anyone out there using simple authentication successfully. If so, can
you send out any lessons learned or pointers on how you got the
authentication to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

More specifically running slapd 3.3 on a Sun SParc4 / Solaris 2.5 with
gdbm 1.7.3 as the backend db.
