Information About Four Leaf Clovers

Four leaf clovers tend to prefer slightly shady, cool, and wet areas. Ideal temperature for growing appears to be between 55 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Individual plants will have all four part leaves, so if you find one, you should be able to find others and/or be able to wait until the plant regenerates itself to find another.

I've noticed that finding four leaf clovers is just a matter of having the right search image. Four leaf clovers often stand out, and may even be the tallest clover around. I've often found five, six, and sometimes even seven leaf clovers in the same area as the four leaf clovers.

Please note that four-leaf clovers are often found on red clover plants (below left). Can you find the four leaf clover in the picture below? The St. Patrick's Day three leaf "shamrock" is actually from a wood sorrel (sweet clover) plant (yellow wood sorrel image below right copyright David G. Smith at http://www.delawarewildflowers.org ).

Go Braugh!

I'm looking over a four leaf clover
That I overlooked before
One leaf is sunshine, the second is rain,
Third is the roses that grow in the lane.
No need explaining the one remaining;
Is somebody I adore.
I'm looking over a four leaf clover
That I overlooked before.
