Dandelion
Fluff
My days of flowering are gone;
I am dandelion fluff
Floating over the autobahn-
Restless current, wind-carved bluff.
My days of great planes are kaput;
I am crumpled, bunched paper
Smudging in my own past soot-
Endless circle, short taper.
My days of sunshine are finished;
I am dreary, rainy nights
Drowning dreams before they are wished-
Staring sockets, empty sights.
My days of shared breath are expired;
I am Father McKenzie
Writing to the dead deeply mired-
Secluded grave, unturned key.
My days of usefulness are past;
I am migrating salmon
Swimming upstream to die at last-
Destined doom, tombstone dolmen.
-Adrianna Rowanexys
So many lonely people, and who is the loneliest of them all? Why The
Beatle's "Eleanor
Rigby" of course! I alluded to Father McKenzie in this poem since I
didn't want to make the comparison too obvious.

Part I: Mysterious Encounter
Billowing fog surrounds the forest,
Engulfing it in an eerie blurry white
Instead of the sharp darkness of night.
A haunting siren song rings in the mist,
Luring men on land as on sea,
But perhaps to a kinder destiny
Of love rather than a life forever missed.
-Adrianna Rowanexys
I started to interpret each segment of Kitaro's "The Light of the
Spirit," but I only finished the first song called "Mysterious
Encounter."
Kitaro's "The Light of the Spirit" album also inspired my short story
title "The Spirit of the Tutelary Saints" and the song "Howling
Thunder" inspired one of the action sequences within it. And before
you ask, my story is not ready to be viewed yet.

There You Are, My Bright Little Star
Starry, Starry Night:
Van Gogh's painting comes to life--
Reality and dream.
-Adrianna Rowanexys
The title to this haiku is alluding to "In the Beginning" from On
the Threshold of a Dream album by the Moody Blues.

Mirror
Deep dark blueness all around,
Cold within everything found;
Same unchanging fickle view,
Always with the perpetual hue.
Illuminated in a fuzzy glow,
Foggy dimness shadows the snow;
Indistinct silhouettes starkly stare,
Burdened by the weight they bear.
Plodding back to the start-
The end is the means to part;
Heard only in silent solitude,
Souls drift in a bruised mood.
-Adrianna Rowanexys
Originally I was making a play on Pink Floyd's "The
Dark Side of the Moon." I had wanted to convey the lunatic using
contradictory terminology (see the third line in each stanza). Because I
was describing the moon facing the earth, I had originally named this
poem "The Light Side," both because it is lit by the earth and also for
the opposite terminology. However, I then incorporated the Earth and the
title didn't make as much sense as "Mirror" in which the events on Earth
mirrored the events on the Moon.

A Little Boy in a Vampire World
Born bright with living will-fire,
Drained dead by the Vampire,
Too late do we understand-
One must create ones own brand.
Tried trite by the masses,
Herd head as boyhood passes,
Too late reminds the wise elf-
One must still be ones own self.
Lost light from disappointment,
Fight fled in wake of dent,
Too late do we avoid the reef-
One must have faith in ones own belief.
Sought sight in a dark world,
Sure said with sails unfurled,
Too smart to be ever harmed-
One must never be disarmed.
-Adrianna Rowanexys
"A Little Boy in a Vampire World" was created for Jarod, who loves the
Smashing Pumpkins. So, I alluded to two Smashing Pumpkins' songs: "Bullet
With Butterfly Wings" (click Here
for the midi) and "Disarm."

Enthusiasm From Within
Time to go faraway-
Get on with your life;
Its for you to say
What music fits your fife.
A machine no longer-
Hide inside no more;
You will be stronger
By facing the feared door.
Heed hidden mists and traps-
Know yourself to rule;
Your unconscious naps
But can make you the fool.
Regret wont make it right-
So be pure and true;
Hold your ideals tight
For they drive what you do.
-Adrianna Rowanexys
"Enthusiasm From Within" was created for Anne, who thinks
Soundgarden's drummer is the best. So, I alluded to various songs from
Soundgardens Down on the Upside album.
