I
am studying the role of the NF-1 gene product, neurofibromin,
in the differentiation and survival of neurons and the role
of PI3-kinase in this process. We use mouse embryonic stem
cells for these studies.

Outside of the lab and classes, I enjoy doing volunteer
work at U-M Hospital and St. Pius Church. Some of my other
interests include genealogy, computing, boating, gardening,
bicycling, and spending time with my grandchildren, Samantha and Kyle.
