Internet Tool Review
The purpose of this webpage is to present information for teachers that will assist them in facilitating communication and collaboration with educational colleagues. One can address educational issues and concerns via this medium as well as propose and moderate topics related to examining them. The goal then becomes one of professional development. This page is organized into four separate categories, each of which can be reached by following the desired link. A brief synopsis of the topics is presented below:
- Evaluation
of Internet for Communication -- Many view the Internet and
the World Wide Web (WWW) as the ultimate of resources with the
maximum potential for communication. As professional educators,
one must decide how to best access and to utilize these resources.
How much effort is required to make use of this powerful resource
? Are there limitations to this resource ? This evaluation begins
the process of putting these types of questions into focus.
- Glossary
of Terms Defined -- Internet communication technology is
described using numerous words and phrases that are not
common to most beginning users. This link provides a list of key
terms and definitions and places them in the context of Internet
communications.
- Summary of
Various Internet Tools -- Individuals who utilize the Internet
and the Word Wide Web have a myriad of "tools" with which to work.
Uses include e-mail, file transfer across across the Internet, Web
design and construction, Web browsing, News groups, Chat rooms,
and real audio and CU See Me video technology. This link begins a
tour of these very important Internet tools.
- Communication Software Information -- A lot of information about communication software is available on the World Wide Web (WWW). For example, you can retrieve information about software upgrades and software availability. In some instances, you can download a free, trial copy of the software.
