  (Interstage cooling) In the reactor system shown in Figure CDP12-E, reactor 1 is operated at feed conditions identical to those given in Example 8-10 from the 4th edition of Elements of Chemical Reaction Engineering. The stream leaving reactor 1 is cooled to T 2in a double-pass tube-and-shell heat exchange before entering reactor 2, which is operated adiabatically. Assuming that reactor 2 contains the same weight of catalyst as reactor 1, determine the optimum feed temperature to reactor 2 together with the conversion associated with this feed temperature.
