HOW TO CALCULATE THE OUTLET AVERAGE CONVERSION

The outlet conversion can readily be calculated for the case where no radial effects exists by the following expression:

 

In this case however, to determine the molar flow rate at the exit of the reactor, FA, is not all that easy since it varies in the radial direction. To find the mean molar flow rate at the exit we have to integrate:

 

Once the molar flow rate at the exit been calculated, the conversion is readily determined using the expression above.
