How to Use the Active Learning Workbook

• Assign the Active Learning Workbook as an extra credit assignment. Grading can be done on a complete/incomplete basis (flip/scan the workbook to check if pages are complete - it takes seconds).

• Grading on a periodic basis (prior to exams encourages students to keep pace with the reading and lectures and prevents all-night cramming).

• Assign points for completed chapters as a regular class assignment.

• The integrated questions at the end of each workbook chapter encourages student thinking and integration of materials; ideal for use as part of discussion groups or on-line chat groups.
